![]() Active cables wont work in a non-powered USB slot whereas, passive will. Active needs to be powered, passive does not. ![]() But that also means the cable is passive versus active. It does NOT have a 40 Gbps transfer rate. This one is made of the same stuff, nearly identical, and is likewise very durable. I’ve had the other cable for a few months. The only difference between the two is this one is square shaped at the plug whereas, my other cable has rounded edges. I literally just purchased a cable almost exactly like this one – even from the same company! I was looking for: USB-C (USB3/4), 20 Gbps transfer rate, 100W power delivery, passive cable, and 6 feet. I already knew the quality I was going to get and I’m glad I could support them with a review they justifiably deserve.įunny. That’s why I am super excited to do this review. In fact, when searching for new cables, Cable Matters is often one of the companies I check. I have never been disappointed, and this cable joins many other cables from Cable Matters. I’m always skeptical of a new or lesser well-known brand. Something that would last without wearing out (like stock cables that come bundled with your phone/components). A few years ago, I went on the hunt to find a quality cable company without breaking the bank.
